How to Play

Play Toto Adventure online for free. Toto Adventure is a 24-stage retro platformer themed escape room game. Collect all 3 keys to unlock the treasure chest and clear the level. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • On the welcome screen, select the play button on the bottom left to get started.
    • Choose from 3 different characters from the center of the screen before starting.
    • Select these 3 controls on the bottom left corner of the screen:
      • Speaker button: Turns the sound on and off
      • Music button: Does the same to the background music
      • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes
      • Select the Facebook button on the bottom row to share the game with your friends on social media.
      • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and score.
      • Game Controls
        • Desktop
          • With your keyboard:
            • Press left and right arrow keys to move
            • Press the up arrow key to jump
            • Press the down arrow key to slide.
              • Touchscreen devices
                • With your fingers
                  • Tap on the left and right arrow buttons on the bottom left corner to move.
                  • Tap on the up arrow button on the bottom right to jump.
                  • Tap on the down arrow button on the bottom right to slide.
                  • Controls and indicators
                    • Top row
                      • Coin counter
                      • Level number
                      • Keys counter
                      • Health meter
                      • Music button
                      • Speaker button
                      • Enlarge button
                      • Bottom row
                        • On either corner are the touchscreen control buttons.
                        • At the bottom center is the gear button. Use this to open the pause menu.
                        • Game Play
                          • Choose a character:
                            • Toto
                            • Ninja
                            • Robot
                            • All 3 characters play the exact same, though have different aesthetics.
                            • Level selection
                              • Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
                              • Finish one level to unlock the next.
                              • You can replay any of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
                              • Basic rules
                                • Avoid or stomp enemies as you encounter them.
                                • Dodge hazards by jumping over or sliding under them.
                                • Pick up collectible items:
                                  • Pick up keys. You need all 3 keys to unlock the treasure chest.
                                  • Pick up coins.
                                  • Navigating the level
                                    • Jump up platforms.
                                    • Use switches to activate moving platforms.
                                    • Some switches need to be pressed to work. Use a heavy object and push it toward the switch to keep it activated.
                                      • In some cases enemies will keep running back and forth into such objects, moving them slightly.
                                      • In these scenarios set them to the far edge of where they can be to give yourself more time to traverse the remainder of the level.
                                      • Lives, enemies, and hazards
                                        • You only have one life and a limited number of hit points.
                                          • Hit an enemy and you lose hit points. Lose all your hit points and you die.
                                            • Typically you need to get hit about a half dozen times by the round balls or regular enemies to die.
                                            • Keep track of your hit points & how much damage each enemy does using the health bar on the top right corner.
                                            • If you beat a level with partial health you start the next level with full health.
                                            • Hit the spikes and it’s an instant game over.
                                            • You can stomp enemies by jumping on them. Each enemy you stomp is worth 2 points.
                                            • You must dodge hazards like spikes. There is no physical way you can destroy them & the spiked platforms destroy you with a single hit.
                                            • This game offers unlimited continues.
                                            • Control gotchas
                                              • Some aspects of the game controls are forgiving, while others can be a bit frustrating.
                                                • Forgiving
                                                  • If you bump your head off the ceiling you will float for a period of time rather than bouncing off hard.
                                                  • You can slide down the sides of walls to give yourself more granular timing control on a fall.
                                                  • Frustrating
                                                    • If you try to jump while moving off platform sometimes you will fall off platform rather than jumping, so sometimes you have to jump first then move laterally.
                                                    • If you try to jump while standing next to a wall sometimes you will get stuck and not be able to jump or do a wall slide. Again, it helps to jump vertically then move horizontally while in air.
                                                    • The jump & slide buttons in the lower left corner of the screen & the left and right move buttons in the lower right corner of the screen may obstruct your view.
                                                    • Some levels have moving platforms with overlapping paths. In some cases this can send you off on the wrong platform or pull you in a way that has you fall onto the spikes, requiring you to start the level again.
                                                    • On some levels you can get on a low platform position where you can’t get back up to activate a switch or your character can get stuck in a slide. If either of these happen select the level restart button in the bottom center.
                                                    • Scoring
                                                      • Your level rating is based how many collectible items you picked up.
                                                      • Collect all the coins and keys to earn a 3-star rating.
                                                      • Target Audience
                                                        • The game is suited for players who like level escape games.
                                                        • The game has no adult themed content.
